Missed Call Text Back
Missed call text back sends an automatic text to a caller when nobody answers, so they hear from your business right away and your team is alerted. We set up the message, consent and opt-out handling, lead capture and CRM link. It supports follow-up by a person and does not replace answering the phone.

What is missed call text back?
Who this is for
Service businesses that miss calls while staff are with customers or on a job site.
Offices that get calls outside working hours.
Teams that already track enquiries and want a quick first response.
Not a fit if you need calls answered by voice. See AI receptionist and AI voice agents. Tradespeople can also see home services marketing.
What we set up
Consent, disclosure and opt-out
Text messaging is regulated, and the rules depend on where your callers are. These are requirements we plan around. This page is not legal advice, so check with your own counsel about your business.
A message that names your business and does not mislead.
A working opt-out, honored right away, with opt-outs recorded.
No marketing content in the first reply. It answers the missed call only.
Records of messages sent.
Sensible limits on follow-up messages.
The business outcome
Faster lead handling and more consistent follow-up, so fewer enquiries go cold. We do not promise a reply rate or a number of booked jobs.

How it works
How it works.
Five steps from an unanswered call to a person following up.
- Step 1
A call is missed
The system sees the unanswered call on your business number.
- Step 2
A text is sent
The caller receives your approved message, which identifies your business and explains how to opt out.
- Step 3
Details are captured
The reply asks a few short questions and can offer a booking link.
- Step 4
Your team is alerted
Someone is notified, and the conversation appears in your CRM or inbox.
- Step 5
A person follows up
Your team replies, books the job or calls back.

What is missed call text back?
Missed call text back is an automated text sent to a caller when nobody answers. It shows the caller you received the call and gives them an easy next step, such as replying with a few details or booking a time. A person follows up. It does not guarantee a reply.
How does missed call text back work?
When a call to your business number goes unanswered, the system sends your approved message to the caller and alerts your team. Replies appear in your CRM or inbox so a person can respond. We set up the message, alerts, opt-out handling and the link to your existing systems.
What consent and opt-out handling do you set up?
Text messaging is regulated, and the rules depend on where your callers are. We design the message to identify your business, include a working opt-out, record opt-outs and avoid marketing content in the first reply. This is not legal advice, so confirm requirements with your own counsel.
What happens when someone replies STOP?
The opt-out is honored and recorded, and further messages to that number stop. The record is kept so the opt-out is respected later. Your team cannot message that number through the system unless the person opts in again, which keeps your follow-up within the rules.
Can it capture details and book appointments?
Yes. The reply can ask a few short questions, such as what the caller needs, and offer a booking link where your calendar supports it. Each missed call becomes a record in your existing CRM with a source and an owner. We confirm what is possible with your software.
Is this the same as an AI receptionist?
No. Missed call text back sends a text after a call is missed. An AI receptionist answers calls by voice and holds a conversation. Some businesses use one, some both. We can help you choose based on your call volume and the kind of calls you get.
Can a person take over the conversation?
Yes. Your team is alerted when a text goes out or a reply arrives, and a person can take over at any point. We recommend setting out who owns each missed call, so every conversation has a named person responsible for the next step.
How do I know how many calls I am missing?
Check your phone provider's call log for unanswered calls, or use our free missed call revenue calculator to estimate the effect from your own numbers. We can also set up call tracking, so you see answered and missed calls, with their source, in one report.
