Generative AI Development Services
Generative AI development services cover building software that writes, summarises, answers and extracts using large language models and other generative models. NextCTL builds these applications on your own data, connects them to your systems, tests them for accuracy and safety, and keeps people in control of important decisions.

At a glance
For: product, technology and operations leaders who want generative AI inside real workflows.
You get: a tested generative AI application grounded in your data.
Work done by: NextCTL engineers; testing and safety checks are part of every build.
Where it fits: part of AI development; uses RAG when answers must come from your documents.
What generative AI development involves
Who this is for
Teams with large volumes of text, documents or questions that people handle by hand.
Product teams adding drafting, summarising or answering to a live product.
Operations teams that want an assistant connected to internal knowledge.
Founders building a product where generative AI is the core feature.
Not a fit if the task has one exact right answer every time, such as a fixed calculation. Plain software or a classic model is often better and more reliable there. We will tell you.
Generative AI applications we build
Custom generative AI solutions are built around your data and process. Where a model needs adapting, we use prompt design and retrieval first, and consider fine-tuning only when testing shows it is justified.
How we keep generative AI accurate and safe
Generative models can be wrong in a confident tone. We design for that from the start.
Answers grounded in your data, with sources shown where it matters.
A test set of real cases, run before launch and after every change.
Limits on what the system may say and do, and approval steps for actions with consequences.
Defences against prompt injection and unsafe inputs and outputs.
Logs of what the system was asked and what it answered, so problems can be traced.
A clear route to a person when the system is unsure.
These are practices we build into projects. They are not certifications.
What you receive
A working generative AI application connected to your data and workflows.
A test report showing how answer quality and safety were checked.
Documentation of the architecture, prompts, data sources and settings.
Monitoring and logs for quality, usage and model-call volume.
A ranked list of improvements for the next release.
How it works
How a generative AI project runs
- Step 1
Define the task and what a good answer looks like, with examples from your business.
- Step 2
Choose the model approach and data sources that fit the task, privacy needs and budget.
- Step 3
Build a prototype and test it on real cases.
- Step 4
Fix failures, add integrations, access controls and approval steps.
- Step 5
Deploy with monitoring, logging and a fallback to a person.
- Step 6
Review live results and improve.
How a generative AI project runs
Technology we work with
Large language models from hosted providers and open models.
Retrieval-augmented generation, embeddings and vector databases.
Prompt management and versioning.
Evaluation sets, automated regression tests and human review.
Observability for latency, cost and quality of every model call.
Guardrails for inputs, outputs and tool use.
Integration through APIs, webhooks and MCP connectors.
What are generative AI development services?
Generative AI development services are the design and build of software that uses generative models to write, summarise, answer questions, extract data or create content. The service includes choosing the model, connecting your data, building the application, testing for accuracy and safety, and launching it inside your workflow. The aim is a reliable tool people use daily.
How is generative AI different from traditional AI or machine learning?
Traditional machine learning predicts or classifies from patterns in structured data, such as a forecast or a fraud flag. Generative AI produces new content, such as text or images, from an instruction. Many projects use both. We pick the approach that fits the task, and that is sometimes plain software.
Do we need to fine-tune a model?
Usually not at first. Good prompt design and retrieval from your own documents solve most business tasks. We test those first. Fine-tuning is considered only when testing shows a clear gain that simpler methods cannot deliver, because it adds cost and maintenance. We explain the trade-off before recommending it.
How do you reduce wrong or made-up answers?
We ground answers in your own data, show sources where it matters, and test against a set of real cases before launch and after each change. We limit what the system may say, add approval for important actions, and route unsure cases to a person. No system is perfect, so we also monitor live results.
Which model should we use?
It depends on the task, the sensitivity of your data, speed needs and running cost. We compare a few options on your own examples and choose the simplest model that meets the quality bar. We avoid tying you to one vendor, so a model can be swapped later without rebuilding the whole application.
Can generative AI connect to our existing systems?
Yes. We connect it to your CRM, help desk, document stores, databases and internal tools through APIs, webhooks and MCP connectors, with access limited to what the task needs. For larger connection work, see our AI integration services. Actions that change records can require a person's approval first.
Who owns what you build?
Ownership of the code, prompts, configuration and documentation is confirmed in the project agreement. We document what we build, including the architecture, data flows and settings, so your team, or another team, can run and extend it.
Generative AI development questions
Decide with evidence, not a pitch.
Open a neutral research prompt in the AI you already use. It asks where NextCTL fits, where a freelancer or an in house hire may be enough, and what to verify before you choose.
